Video Showcases Wildlife Management Resources for New Landowners

Extension Associate, Blake Alldredge, released a new video on our WFSC AgriLife Extension YouTube Channel called, “Available Resources for Landowners in Texas”.  In the course of this 22 min video, Blake provided a quick description of ecoregions and the importance of plant and animal diversity needed for healthy ecosystems.  Knowing that there are many “New to the Land” owners, who have purchased property for the enjoyment and value of nature, he demonstrated how they can reach natural resource professionals within Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Natural Resource Conservation Service and Texas A&M Forest Service.  Personnel in each agency shared their mission, expertise, and available technical guidance resources.  Blake also showed landowners how to gain information through credible social media outlets and web-pages.  Topics among these sites include videos for habitat management, literature sources, mapping tools and plant identification aids.  For the landowner, who does not know where or who to turn to for natural resource expertise, there are many helpful topics, leading them in the right direction to jumpstart their land stewardship.
