Get Ready for the Statewide Quail Symposium!

Are you prepared for the Statewide Quail Symposium this summer? It's not until mid-August, but you'll need to take action now if you want the best lodging and registration rates. Here's what you should know (and do) to get ready.

First, a breakdown of the basics:

WHAT: A 3-day event focused on topics of quail management and conservation in Texas.
WHERE: The Abilene area, with the MCM Elegante as the host hotel.
WHEN: August 14-16, 2019.
WHO: Speakers include agency personnel, landowners, researchers, and other experts.

Now, what should you do to prepare?

  1. Check out our new website. Here you can read more about the Symposium, see a breakdown of the agenda, and find contact info for the event organizers if you have any questions.
  2. Register! That seems like a given, but you'll want to do it sooner rather than later for a discounted registration rate. It's $50 to register early, which you can do online or by mailing in a registration form, which you can request here. Early registration cost is $50; after August 7, the price jumps to $75.
  3. Take advantage of discounted student rates. Are you a student? If so, you can save even more on registration. Student rates will be $20 for early registration, $50 at the door.
  4. Book a room at a discount with our room block. If you're coming in from out of town and plan to stay at the host hotel, you can get a special room rate of $94 per night by mentioning the Statewide Quail Symposium when you book. The block expires July 16 and it has a limited number of slots, so don't delay on this! Call (325) 698-1234 to book.
Finally, come prepared with any burning questions you want answered. In addition to our formal speakers, there will be plenty of other educators, consultants, researchers, and NGO representatives ready to talk quail.
