Protecting the Legacy of the Edwards Plateau

The Edwards Plateau is home to some of the most distinctive and beautiful features in Texas.  The characteristic limestone formations contain many cave systems that support millions of Mexican free-tailed bats, several salamander species only found in this area, and the Edwards Aquifer which supplies water to many Texans.

Texas A&M Agrilife Extension recently received an endowment from the Bennett Family Trust to continue land stewardship education activities in the Edwards Plateau.  Led by Drs. Larry Redmon and Rick Machen, the first event features Wyman Meinzer, Texas State Photographer and award winning author, speaking about the legacy of the Edwards Plateau.  "Protecting the Legacy of the Edwards Plateau" will take place April 23-25 in Kerrville.  This event features wildlife, agriculture, and estate planning seminars, as well as field tours of successful land operations in the area.
